On the morning of July 21, Marsetio, Deputy Director General of the International Maritime Organization and Senior Advisor to the Indonesian Maritime Affairs and Transportation Agency, visited Jimei University with his delegation. Vice President Huang Xinhua greeted the guests and attended the discussion session. Representatives from Singapore CDC Data Center, Indonesian METTA Data Center, Xiamen Tianwu Holdings Group, and the University’s International Cooperation and Exchange department, Navigation College, and Marine Engineering College also participated in the discussion.
Huang Xinhua presented an verview to the University’s history of its development and school-running features, particularly highlighting achievements in marine-related disciplines. He expressed his hope to strengthen cooperative research in marine disciplines with universities in Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries along the Belt and Road Initiative. Marsetio highly praised the University’s century-long cultural heritage and achievements in maritime talent cultivation. Later he expressed his commitment to promoting educational cooperation and alignment in marine disciplines between Indonesian universities and Jimei University.
It’s reported that this discussion session has laid a solid foundation for future international cooperation, talent cultivation, and research collaboration between the university and Indonesia.
