Recently, according to a list released by the China National Art Fund Management Center, Professor of JMU’s Fine Arts and Design College, Chen Qiduan’s two programs were approved to be subsidized by China National Arts Fund (General Programs) for the year of 2024. It’s said that one of his projects, “The Luster of Lacquer Threads: Xiamen Lacquer Thread Sculpture Exhibition” is acclaimed as the communication and exchange promotion program, while another is art program “Lacquer Painting: Jimei Dragon Boat Race”.
As a breakthrough for Professor Chen Qiduan and his team after being selected for the 2019 Talent Cultivation Project, this communication and promotion program is another China National Art Fund project. The art program is committed to supporting outstanding arts talents to carry out in-depth art research and creation. Prof. Chen Qiduan expects this project to become a springboard to expand the boundaries of lacquer painting art creation, exploring more innovative art practices, and promoting China’s lacquer painting arts.
The approval of these two programs demonstrates the University’s research and creation level, which highlights the impact of Fine Arts and Design College in the domestic arts areas.
