On the morning of March 12, Vice President of Jimei University (JMU), Yu Hongliang met with a delegation from International Pacific University of Japan. He was accompanied by the leaders of International Cooperation and Exchange Department and College of Overseas Education.

Briefly presenting the school running of the University, Yu Hongliang hoped that both parties could enhance exchanges and cooperation, and wished the success of the cooperation programs between the two universities. Toshihiro Otsuka, the representative of International  Pacific University of Japan and Vice Chairman of Chuangzhi Group, appreciated highly the achievements of the University in education. He noted that International Pacific University has attached great importance to the collaboration with JMU. He also expressed his willingness to facilitate the mutual development of education and culture between China and Japan.

The meeting laid a foundation for further cooperation between the two universities, which will surely make positive contributions to cultivating more internationalized talents in the field of education and boosting cultural exchanges and educational cooperation between China and Japan.

Following the meeting, the Japanese delegation was given a tour around the campus.

It is reported that JMU and International Pacific University of Japan formally signed a cooperation agreement in 2022, adopting the “2+2” academic program to jointly foster internationalized talents in business majors (Comprehensive Economics and Management oriented). This cooperation program has been included in strategic partnership of the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (Ministry of Education) /Jimei University. Over the past two years, the enrolment and competence of students in the program have been improved. It’s said that the first batch of students of the program intends to study abroad in Japan this summer.
