On the afternoon of November 17, JMU held a meeting on foreign affairs work in the fall semester of 2022. Attending the meeting were the directors of International Cooperation and Exchange Department (Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office), the heads of the colleges in charge of foreign affairs work and some liaison staffs for international affairs.

At the meeting, after reporting the work of foreign exchange and cooperation of the University since the epidemic in 2020, the director summarized the phasal gains of the online international exchange programs for students, and also released the online international exchange program for students in the winter vacation, the offline semester visits and joint talent training programs for students in spring and autumn of 2023. Meanwhile, the workflow of donation of JMU Education Development Foundation was explained in detail. In the end, all the colleges were called on to proactively further the “one college, one school” and “one college, multiple schools” programs in accordance with the University’s “14th Five-Year Plan” for cooperation and exchange and the task indicators. Every effort should be made to set up a new pattern of foreign affairs work for the construction of a “Double First-class” university.

The heads of College of Marine Food and Biological Engineering, College of Business Administration and Teachers College shared their experience on how to promote the internationalization of the colleges, enhance the efforts to introduce overseas talents and promote the international exchange of teachers and students.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, based on the objective of building a first-class university characterized by “engineering integrated with marine” , JMU has adhered to the concept of open schooling, surmounting every obstacle to international cooperation and exchange, exploring new ways and modes of international education and exchange, continuously expanding the circle of international friends, and further strengthening foreign cooperation and exchange. Making every endeavor to advance the internationalization of school development, talent training, scientific research and service to society, JMU has reaped a bumper harvest.
