On the morning of February 22, the opening ceremony of Century Master: Tan Kah Kee in the 100-episode full-length series of biographical documentary Century Master which was jointly produced by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, China Media Group, Chinese National Academy of Arts and China Literature and Art Foundation, was held at Xiamen University (XMU). President Li Qingbiao attended the opening ceremony on behalf of Jimei University (JMU).
At the ceremony, Li Qingbiao and the leading distinguished guests present jointly launched the opening ceremony of Century Master:Tan Kah Kee and accepted the series of books titled Century Masters presented to XMU, JMU and other units by members of the organizing committee.
As the first massive series of biographical documentary in China, Century Masters focuses on the masters who made remarkable contributions to Chinese civilization in the 20th century. Divided into several chapters on education, art, calligraphy, Peking Opera, drama, music and literature, the completed parts of the documentary Century Masters have been broadcast on more than 200 media platforms successively. Highlighted on the growing experience and life story of Mr. Tan Kah Kee, a renowned overseas Chinese patriotic leader, Century Master:Tan Kah Kee reviews the historical changes of Chinese social ideologies, the evolution of cultures and vicissitudes of society throughout the 20th century. It is learned that it will become a vivid and detailed manifestation of both the dramatic history of modern China and the long-standing and rich cultural heritage of Fujian.
