On November 20, the 2021 the China Marine Economy (International) Forum on high-quality development of marine economy and the construction of modern marine industry system was held at Jimei University. A number of topics were presented including the construction of a modern marine industrial system and the conversion of marine kinetic energy, a regional marine industry collaborative innovation system, platform carrier construction and new infrastructure, smart marine industry and laws and regulations on marine environmental protection.

The forum was hosted by Chinese Society for Oceanography, Jimei University and Ocean University of China, and organized by the Xiamen Ocean Emerging Industry Innovation Alliance, The Office of Science & Research, Jimei University and The Finance and Economics College.

The forum played an important role in promoting China's marine economic research and further building the country’s maritime industry.
